In 1804 a small group of believers in Chippenham, seceded from the "Tabernacle" Independent Church in Emery Lane, to set up a Baptist Church founded on the doctrines of grace, and practising Strict Communion. For two hundred years, under a succession of pastors and ministers, the truths which prompted the establishment of the church at "Old Baptist" Chapel have been proclaimed. This book is a small attempt to set on record some of the Lord's goodness and mercy over that long period. While the historical details are interesting, more significant are the accounts of the dealings of God in the salvation of sinners. This was the very purpose for which the Lord moved our forefathers to build "Old Baptist" Chapel.
