Ramsbottom Books for the month of November
Good Reads for the month of November.
THE KING WHO WOULD NOT LISTEN RAM068
THE KING WHO WOULD NOT LISTEN, RAMSBOTTOM, B- A book especially written for teens and young adults. The author draws many lessons both of encouragement and warning for young people in contemporary society. Jehoshaphat was the king who could not say "no", and so often compromised. Josiah was the king who was so tender in the fear of God, even when very young. Joash was influenced by others and seemed very godly at first but later proved a disaster. Rehoboam refused to listen to advice and so split Israel in two. Homosexuality was also an issue that had to be dealt with by the kings. Excellent reading for young and old. 68pp
DIVINE GUIDANCE - HOW TO KNOW GOD'S WILL RAM059
DIVINE GUIDANCE-TO KNOW GOD'S WILL, RAMSBOTTOM, B- How may I discern God's will when a decision has to be taken or a choice made? This booklet seeks to set out scriptural guidelines, especially for young people. 19 pp. (Jr./Sr. High+)
CHRISTMAS EVANS RAM053
CHRISTMAS EVANS, RAMSBOTTOM, B- Quaint, eminently godly, without doubt a preacher greatly used by God, Christmas Evans (1766-1838) has been largely forgotten in recent years. Yet at one time his name was a household word in Wales. In simple and interesting fashion this new biography portrays the remarkable life of this remarkable man. 119 pp.
BIBLE DOCTRINES SIMPLY EXPLAINED RAM050
BIBLE DOCTRINES SIMPLY EXPLAINED, RAMSBOTTOM, B- A must for every home, school and church library. Filled with appropriate stories that help explain main Bible doctrines in simple manner. Written for children but its scope lies far beyond children in the truths it presents. Even teens and adults will enjoy this. It has been described as "a child's body of divinity." 58 pp. (7th grade+)
Behind a Frowning Providence RAM046
IT MAY WELL BE ASKED, "WHY YET ANOTHER BOOK ABOUT JOSEPH?" TO WHICH WE ANSWER, "THIS IS DEFFERENT." REMEMBERING THAT JOSEPH WAS ONLY SEVENTEEN WHEN THE STORY BEGINS, THIS BOOK IS INTENDED TO BE A HELP TO YOUNG PEOPLE AND PROFITABLE TO OLDER READERS ALSO. IT CONSISTS OF SUNDAY AFTERNOON TALKS GIVEN TO THE PASTOR'S BIBLE CALSS. IT IS NOTICEABLE THAT SO MANY OF JOSEPH'S PROBLEMS WERE PROBLEMS YOUNG PEOPLE ARE CALLED TO FACE TODAY.
Christ in the Book of Zechariah RAM044
Concerning the Old Testament Scriptures, Jesus said, "They are they which testify of me." Zechariah prophesied against the background of the rebuilding of the temple at Jerusalem. By faith he looks forward to a greater temple, the church of God, whose builder is Christ Himself, and in visions and types sets forth Christ's Person and work, His humiliation and exaltation, and His glorious offices. In this little book the author seeks, in an easily understandable manner, to expound and explain these remarkable prophecies. B. A. Ramsbottom has been Pastor of Bethel Strict Baptist Chapel, Luton, for more than 40 years and has written many books, especially for children and young people. GOSPEL STANDARD TRUST PUBLICATIONS

ABOUT GOSPEL MISSION
Many years ago a man in the U.S.A. had a desire to put out the gospel throughout the world by printing and publishing books of writings, sermons, autobiographies, letters etc. of many of the old Puritan and reformed writers from the past centuries, at the cheapest possible price to make them available to as many people as possible. With much prayer and guidance for all that was needed, including finance, he looked to his Lord for help.
The man was Mr. Henry Bouma, who later became pastor of Old Paths Strict Baptist Church in Choteau, Montana. He, and some of his brothers and other members of this large family were involved in this large set up.
Gospel Mission is an outreach of Old Paths Strict Baptist Church. The name ‘Old Paths’ is taken from the Bible, Jeremiah ch. 6 v 16, and this declares our position and aim – to walk in the old paths or ways – God’s ways. We are affiliated to the Gospel Standard Strict Baptists in England where there are about one hundred churches, and we have three in the U.S.A. two in Australia, and one in Canada.
And so Gospel Mission was set up, printing some of the books on a printing press they obtained. After a while Pastor Bouma was able to buy the hospital building in Choteau, as the hospital moved to a new site. A lot of work was needed to be done to adapt this building into offices and storerooms and many shelves to display the books. The Lord favored them with help and finance and all that was needed to present Gospel Mission.
Today we are still in the same old hospital building, but we do not print any of the books now. This is done by a printing company which took over the work.
Pastor Henry Bouma passed away nearly eighteen years ago, but the Mission he began still carries on. We have a minimum of staff and are grateful to volunteers who lovingly give of their time and services, and we keep our expenses to a minimum. The Lord is good. He is the same God who enabled Pastor Bouma many years ago to set up the book room, and still is helping us today.
We have about 2,000 different titles of Christian books including children’s books, sermons, autobiographies, commentaries, Bibles, hymnbooks, coloring books and cards. We only use the King James Authorised Version, and keep to old reformed works, following the Scripture line from the Apostles. Most of the books are from England and the U.S.A. giving competitive prices, we can send you a current flyer which has our special offers, or you can go online to our website and see the full range of books. you can make good use of it. We welcome orders online, but we also take telephone orders/enquiries, or by mail to: Gospel Mission Inc. P O Box 318, Choteau, MT, 59422. Our telephone number is 406 466 2311.
We are mainly mail order, but we welcome visitors from near and far to come and browse through the books. We are situated on the Rocky Mountain Front where the Rockies meet the plains in a lovely area. We would suggest anyone who is interested in coming here to telephone first 406 466 2311, as the book store is not staffed all the time. We also welcome visitors to our Church, also in Choteau. Our services are on Sundays 10.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. and Wednesday evenings (usually) at 7.30 p.m.
We would take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers who have supported us during the past years, and say that we appreciate you all. It is very expensive to print our own books and we welcome any donations or contributions towards the cost of this. Your prayers are most needful, as you may be led to pray. Our staff are kept to a minimum, and we are thankful to the volunteers who give of their time and all who give an interest in this work. We pray the Mission may continue as long as the Lord be with us.
Lastly but not least, we desire to give all thanks and all the glory to our Lord God who has enabled this Mission work to continue, especially in the dark days in which we live. The need is greater than ever to get the gospel to as many places as the Lord would have it.
