JOHN RUSK:SAIL MAKER AND SCRIBE, RUSK, J- John Rusk was a name familiar to readers of the Gospel Standard from 1845 until the early years of this century. Born about the year 1772, he came under divine teaching when he was twenty years old. Unable to find a spiritual guide, eventually he was led to hear William Huntington. He was a sail-maker by trade and he and his family lived for a time in the almshouses. Though in dire poverty, he was blessed with a deep, rich, experimental understanding of a true work of God's grace in his own soul. These fragments show that his was indeed the pen of a ready writer. 56 pp.
